No increase yet to be seen in emigration figures Curaçao

Local | By Correspondent June 17, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - In the first half of 2020, no increase can be seen in the emigration of Curaçao. The migration surplus was 228 in the same period in 2019 and has risen slightly in 2020 to 262.

This is evident from government figures. Ruthline Haddocks, head of the Public Affairs department, says that people also want to stay on Curaçao precisely because of the COVID-19 situation.

Haddocks also expects to see figures of a decline in Curaçao students going abroad to study soon.
