WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao has sufficient liquidity to cover the costs of the first six months of 2022. Also for the rest of the year, Minister of Finance Javier Silvania expects that Curaçao will not have to knock on the door of the Netherlands. He said this yesterday in the central committee meeting of parliament.
The collection process of the tax authorities contributes sufficiently to the state treasury. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Curaçao has received 911.5 million guilders in corona loans. Curaçao has yet to repay these interest-free loans. The Kingdom Council of Ministers recently granted a postponement for this.
