ORANJESTAD - People who have been fully vaccinated will no longer have to wear a face mask in Aruba from tomorrow. Companies may still require a face mask in their business, but it is expected that little use will be made of this.
Because the number of infections has been low for a long time, the government believes it is responsible to implement a new number of relaxations. Yesterday there were hardly any new corona infections added on the island. There are now 41 Arubans and 11 non-residents infected.
The island is again getting a lot of tourists, especially Americans. In May of this year, the number of visitors was more than 70 percent of the number who came to Aruba in the same month in 2019. Also this week, just like on Curaçao, a cruise ship will dock for the first time in a year.
Another relaxation tomorrow is that the public is allowed again at sports competitions. There is still a ban on dancing.
There are also fewer travel restrictions. Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire will form a 'bubble' from tomorrow, which means that travelers between the three islands who have been vaccinated twice will not have to show a PCR test.
