No more mandatory quarantine for travelers to Curaçao

Local | By Correspondent January 6, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - As of January 1, 2021, the entry policy in Curaçao has been adjusted. Travelers no longer need 14 days in mandatory quarantine upon arrival in Curaçao. Travelers from high-risk countries, such as the Netherlands and the United States, also no longer need to request permission to enter Curaçao.

Travelers must be in possession of a negative PCR test result no older than 72 hours before the time of departure. Passengers must also complete a Passenger Locator Card (PLC). These measures do not apply to children aged six and under.

For the return journey to the Netherlands, passengers must again undergo a PCR test no more than 72 hours before the flight. Since December 29, 2020, the Netherlands has demanded a negative corona test result upon entry.

Maximum number of passengers abolished

In addition, the maximum number of travelers who are allowed to visit Curaçao has been abolished. Before the turn of the year, there was still a maximum of 20,000 travelers per month. With this decision, the Curaçao government is encouraging airlines to pick up their regular flights and offer them again as was the case before the pandemic.

Cruise passengers are not yet allowed on Curaçao.
