WILLEMSTAD - Until the end of July, there is still money to cover costs to help businesses on the island. This was announced by the Minister of Finance Kenneth Gijsbertha.
If there is no agreement with the Netherlands about the 3rd tranche after July, then the government will have to look at other local options. According to Gijsberta, the solidarity tax is a serious option. This means that people who earn above an amount must be charged a certain percentage. The more you earn, the more you pay in taxes.
