WILLEMSTAD - The state of emergency declared on December 10, 2020 can be extended, even without a quorum in parliament. This is what parliament clerk Silvin Cijntje reports. The 90-day period will end on March 10, but the opposition boycotting the meetings will pose no problem for a possible extension of the state of emergency.
Even without the presence of the opposition, this can be implemented through National Decree. The state of emergency can be granted for a maximum period of 90 days.
