WILLEMSTAD - The Public Prosecution Service has not yet replied to Gerrit Schotte's letter. The lawyer of the former prime minister Paula Jansen sent a letter requesting a payment arrangement.
As is known, Schotte has to pay 1.8 million guilders in connection with the Babel confiscation case. The ultimatum expires at 12 noon this afternoon.
According to the Public Prosecutor Guillano Schoop, Schotte can be formally arrested because he does not meet the payment. He further explains that a payment arrangement can be made, but that was not explicitly mentioned in this case.
