No visa for sex workers yet

WILLEMSTAD - Sex workers in the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom are still not eligible to apply for a visa. Visa granting was suspended in 2019 due to the corona pandemic.

The islands report on the steps that are now being taken to prevent exploitation, after which the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs will decide whether visas for sex workers can be resumed.

The human trafficking and human smuggling coordinator on Curaçao is preparing frameworks and will look into combating the surrounding problems in collaboration with Sint Maarten and Aruba.
