WILLEMSTAD - Almier Godett was shot yesterday morning in a possible family quarrel that got out of hand. Godett is number four on the list of political party Trabou pa Korsou headed by Rennox Calmes.
Godett, a cousin of popular politician Anthony Godett, is said to have tried to calm an argument between family members, after which he himself became a victim. What the fight was about is unknown.
The fatal shots were fired in a house in Juan Domingo. Bullet casings were found at the site of the murder.
Police spokesman Imro Zwerwer says in a statement that the police have meanwhile carried out several raids in which a suspect has been arrested. The name of the suspect has not been disclosed.
Bullet shells were also found on the street in front of the suspect's house. The police are continuing with the investigation.
