WILLEMSTAD - 35 new positive corona tests have been registered in the past 24 hours. Of these, 6 came from abroad, the other 29 infections took place locally. No persons were declared virus-free. Curaçao now has a total of 102 active infections.
The 35 new infections are the result of 1,909 tests taken, which gives a test ratio of 1.8 percent. It is the second day in a row that the number of new cases has gone into double digits. The day before, 23 infections were also added (test ratio of 1.2 percent). As a result, the number of cases is rapidly increasing.
The government epidemiological team is currently investigating three possible clusters. There might be a super spread event.
One corona patient was allowed to leave the hospital in the past 24 hours. Three patients are now admitted to the Curaçao Medical Center; none of them are in intensive care.
The government will hold a press conference about the COVID-19 situation today.
