WILLEMSTAD - The Epidemiology Department (EPI) determined 97 new corona infections on Curaçao on Friday. That is more than Thursday when 79 corona cases were registered.
The number of new infections (97) determined by EPI on Friday is the highest of the past four days: Monday (38), Tuesday (72), Wednesday (79) and Thursday (79). Still, the numbers are not as high as the week before.
EPI makes an urgent appeal to people to read the corona measures extra carefully.
The number of active infections is currently stable. With 70 patients declared cured, the number of active infections is 1853. Since Monday, the number of active infections has fluctuated between 1800 and 1900.
Two people died from the effects of the corona virus. One in the hospital and one in a care home. The number of patients admitted to the Curaçao Medical Center is 14 of which three are in intensive care.
Aruba currently has 106 active infections and on Bonaire the number is increasing to seven.
