WILLEMSTAD – On Wednesday, 3 December 2025, Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas and Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Sithree van Heydoorn received an official visit from Alexander Montiel, CEO of the Miss Teen International pageant; Guizza Maria Steenvoorde, Miss Teen Universe 2025; Thalina Gil, Miss Teen Curaçao 2025; and Ayanette Statia, Director of the QMQ Organization in Curaçao.

Mr. Montiel and Ms. Steenvoorde, who recently won the international competition in Punta Cana, are visiting the island to learn about Curaçao’s culture and tourism attractions and to explore opportunities to promote the island within the global beauty industry. Montiel is also celebrating his 15th year organizing the Miss Teen International pageant in various countries around the world.
During the meeting, Montiel and Statia explained that the Miss Teen International competition is not solely focused on beauty but also functions as a training platform, helping candidates develop in social, educational and personal areas that contribute to their empowerment.
Prime Minister Pisas and Minister Van Heydoorn emphasized their commitment to strengthening the ties between beauty, creativity and youth development on the island. Pisas noted that international pageants can open doors for Curaçao by offering a global platform where young people can grow in confidence, discipline and leadership.
The meeting took place in a warm and collaborative atmosphere, with all parties expressing their intention to continue working together to showcase Curaçao on the international stage in a dignified and inspiring way.
