OM demands 20 months in appeal case against former MFK minister

Local | By Correspondent July 17, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - The public prosecutor (OM) yesterday demanded 20 months imprisonment against Member of Parliament and former Minister of Publish Health for the MFK party, Jacinta Constancia.

Also, according to the Public Prosecution Service, she should not be a minister for five years after she serves her prison sentence.

A 20-month prison sentence has also been demanded against Constancia’s ex-husband. The demands are equal to the penalties that the judge imposed on the two in 2018 for committing fraud with face masks when Constancia was a minister.

Both Constancia and her ex-husband Anbertus "Jhony" Scoop yesterday denied in court that they had anything to do with fraud.

The verdict in the case is scheduled for August 27.
