OM demands imprisonment for two police officers

Local | By Correspondent May 12, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - Two police officers have to go to prison, if it is up to the Public Prosecution Service (OM). In an arrest of a man on January 18 last year, they used excessive force, according to the OM.

These two officers broke five of this man’s ribs. The police officers deny this. One of them was still on probation because of previous incidents involving violence.

If the judge accepts OM’s demand, both officers must surrender their badge for the next two and a half years. Ruling is on May 30.
