WILLEMSTAD - On Monday, about a hundred stakeholders were given a tour of Otrobanda where the Kaya Kaya street festival will take place. The Amphitheater was presented behind the Freedom hotel.
Kaya Kaya is an initiative of Fundashon Ser'i Otrobanda and residents to unite the neighborhood, develop street culture and improve image and awareness. In the months leading up to the festival, the neighborhood is being renovated and murals are being made.
The open-air theater is named after author Jopi Hart. The author has been socially involved with the neighborhood for many years. Otrobanda plays an important role in many of his books.
Kaya Kaya takes place on August 27. The event has been canceled for the past two years due to the corona pandemic.
