Over 6200 people lost their jobs after March 15, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - No fewer than 6202 people have lost their jobs since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Curaçao in March 2020. This was confirmed by the Minister of Social Development, Labor and Welfare Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia.

 

It concerns an answer by the minister to Parliamentary questions from Member of Parliament Rennox Calmes. On March 15 last year, the first covid measures came into effect. The economic impact of this has led to many layoffs.
