WILLEMSTAD - Paying cash for electricity through the Pagatinu cash at the gas station is soon a thing of the past if it is up to the utility company Aqualectra. Despite Covid, customers still have to go out to buy prepaid power.
This year the energy supplier will start a project for customers to purchase electricity digitally via a smart meter. Technically everything is already in order. Customers do need an internet connection.
Aqualectra wants to outsource the entire payment module to PSB Bank and MCB Bank. A big test this year should show that the new pagatinu system works.
