WILLEMSTAD - Michel Berry is the new chairman of the current opposition party PAR. The surgeon was elected last week during the General Meeting of Members. He succeeds former Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath.
Berry has been a member of the yellow party since 2020, including one year as treasurer. He works at the Curaçao Medical Center.
The party also elected a new board. Kimberly Ascencion, Ana-Maria Pauletta and Luigi Faneyte, former leader of the political party Komun.
The board supports political leader Quincy Girigorie on the way to the 2025 parliamentary elections.
