WILLEMSTAD - Member of Parliament for the opposition party PAR, Ana Maria Pauletta has nothing good to say about the increase in the budget of the Parliament. According to Pauletta, the situation on the island is so bad that an increase in faction employees sends the wrong signal.
Political party Trabou pa Korsou wanted to adjust the budget to before the pandemic. After 2019, the budget of the people's representatives was cut by 10 percent for two consecutive years in solidarity with the population.
In a statement, Pauletta said she did not support last Friday's motion. All other factions agreed. They want more faction employees than the current two. According to Pauletta, the same Members of Parliament have previously agreed to the law to reduce parliament's personnel costs.
