WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao parliament finally passed the animal welfare law yesterday.
This has not happened in recent weeks because the opposition boycotted public meetings of the parliament. Yesterday there was a majority. The law was introduced by Giselle McWilliam of the coalition party MAN in collaboration with Animal Protection.
Members of that organization were also present at the Parliamentary Assembly to answer questions. During the answers to the questions, it emerged that an animal cemetery will be built near the animal crematorium in Brievengat.
