Parliament critical about Selikor

Local | By Correspondent December 16, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - Yesterday, there was extensive debate in the Curaçao parliament about the Selikor garbage pickup service. Many Members of Parliament believe that Selikor's service has deteriorated significantly in the past period. For example, there are many complaints about collecting waste in Curaçao neighborhoods. Selikor would be careless with the agreed times and the quality of the service would have deteriorated considerably, according to various representatives. They appealed to the government to address Selikor about this.

Member of Parliament Gisette Seferina of the coalition partner PAR further discussed the debt that the government still owes Selikor. The MP wondered what the consequences would be of the debt the government owes to the waste company. The PAR MP also wanted to know whether the company therefore had insufficient capital at its disposal.
