Parliament is going to allow interrupting

Local | By Correspondent June 16, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - The Parliament of Curaçao will allow interruptions during meetings. At least, the committee that monitors the working methods of parliament advises positively. An amendment to the Rules of Procedure is necessary. PNP faction leader Sheldry Osepa calls the change a culture shift.

Until now, parliamentarians have been allowed to hold uncontested monologues and discussion is not allowed. All political factions have now agreed to the amendment of the Rules of Procedure.

As a result of not being allowed to follow on from what colleagues put up, questions often went unanswered or were answered evasively. That should be over now.
