Parliament is unanimous: Reopen Curacao!

Local | By Correspondent May 31, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - Recently, the Curaçao parliament, with the support of all representatives of the people, passed a motion calling on the government to "reopen" Curaçao.

The motion calls on the government to withdraw the regulations established by means of the Emergency Act. The parliament wants Curaçao to lift the measures in a balanced manner and in consultation with the economic and health sector.

The motion also states that the population is apparently complying with the measures well, because very few new infections have been registered in recent days.

The motion has been tabled by the Member of Parliament for the new coalition partner MFK, Charles Cooper.
