WILLEMSTAD - After two days of deliberation concerning the General Practitioners' Post (HAP), the parliament has passed a motion urging the government to ensure that the CMC hospital, the HAP, and the Curaçaoan General Practitioners Association establish a working protocol. The motion also calls for a reassessment of whether the post can fall under the hospital's jurisdiction.
A second motion, which called for the government to conduct an independent and impartial investigation into the operation of the HAP, was not approved. Only six members of the parliament voted in favor of this proposal.
The adopted motion emphasizes the need for the government to conduct a comprehensive evaluation and to hear all stakeholders to improve collaboration between CMC, the HAP, general practitioners, and the CHV. Additionally, alternatives should be explored to reposition the HAP within the CMC framework. The government is requested to inform the parliament about this within two months. The motion was signed by the factions of the PNP, PAR, and MAN.
