WILLEMSTAD - Parliament passed a law last Friday that will put a definitive end to the vocational school Fundashon FEFFIK. Students and teachers of the foundation have been fighting for the survival of FEFFIK for years.
Fundashon FEFFIK was an organization that gave courses where students received a certificate upon completion. The first-year students of FEFFIK have moved on to Nilda Pinto, where SBO courses are offered.
The previous government had already decided to close Fundashon FEFFIK. The current parliament has now put a definitive end to the foundation. In addition, an agreement has been concluded for an amount of five million guilders for arrears to staff. Because the foundation has been declared bankrupt, lawyer Knoppel has been appointed as liquidator.
