Parliament talks about animal welfare law

Local | By Correspondent October 5, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - Today, a meeting of the central committee of parliament is discussing a new law to protect animal welfare. The law is an initiative of the political party MAN. According to the party, there is broad support for the law among the population.

According to the party, the broad support is evident from a large number of foundations and citizens who spend their free time and their own money day in, day out to improve animal welfare. However, the party sees that there is also often animal suffering on the island. The law must be better able to act against this.

Earlier, the Advisory Board questioned the financing of this. This must be clarified during the discussion in the central committee.
