WILLEMSTAD - Parliament will meet on Thursday to debate the Giro Bank. The central question is who is to blame for the bank's financial debacle.
Since December 2013, Girobank has been under the emergency regulation. This means that the bank is controlled by the Central Bank. During this period, the central bank has invested 267 million guilders in the Giro Bank. The bank is no longer active. Both the Minister of Finance and the Central Bank have been invited to the parliamentary meeting. This has been requested by the MFK faction.
