WILLEMSTAD - Parliament will meet next Friday about phasing out the 12.5 percent cut on the employment conditions of civil servants. This is the meeting urgently requested by Finance Minister Javier Silvania last week.
In order to be able to phase out the cut, the Netherlands has set various requirements, including the standard for top incomes. Also called the Pisas standard, because top incomes are no longer allowed to exceed the prime minister's salary.
Other demands are money in the budget to finance the abolition of the 12.5 percent and maintaining the 25 percent discount on the salary of ministers and members of parliament.
