Parliament to receive briefing for the standardization of top incomes

Local | By Correspondent July 5, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - The Parliament of Curaçao will receive a technical briefing on Tuesday and Thursday about the National Ordinance for the Standardization of Top Incomes.

An explanation will be given on Tuesday by experts from Curoil, Bureau Telecommunications & Post, Aqualectra, the Analytical Diagnostic Center and the Social Insurance Bank (SVB). The briefing will continue on Thursday with speakers from the Central Bank, the airport, Curinde and various trade unions.

With the top income standard, an annual salary in the public-private sector amounts to a maximum of 263,000 guilders. Various government-affiliated entities previously expressed their criticism of the standard, because it did not include all secondary employment conditions. The top officials also found the two-year transition period to the new standard too short.
