WILLEMSTAD - The parliamentary inquiry into the Hospital Nobo Otrobanda (New Hospital Otrabanda) is delayed. The meeting of the committee of inquiry has been postponed until May 2021. The committee will investigate the situation regarding the construction of the new hospital and the transition to it.
The committee of inquiry met on September 21. Then it was decided to request Parliament to extend the term, as the committee was barely able to meet due to the corona crisis. That request has now been granted.
The committee of inquiry was established on December 19, 2019 after a preparatory committee established the research question. The parliamentary inquiry will investigate the progress of the construction and transition of the new hospital. As is known, the costs of the construction turned out to be many times higher than budgeted.
