KRALENDIJK - All persons who have boarded a plane on their way to Bonaire next to a passenger who has tested positive for COVID-19 are quarantined at a central location. The Public Health Service in Bonaire monitors passengers to see if they develop complaints.

A plane from the Netherlands on its way to Bonaire made a stopover in Curaçao. A passenger who had been tested for COVID-19 at Schiphol was found to have the disease. The result came in Curaçao when the plane was already on its way. It is known which people who were en route to Bonaire have been sitting near the passenger. Those people are now all quarantined in a central location. Their health is monitored by the Public Health Service. This protects public health in Bonaire.

The plane was completely cleaned in Curaçao, before transit to Bonaire, according to the corona rules. This eliminates the risk of contamination. Bonaire emphasizes that it is important that all passengers, before their trip, have themselves tested for COVID-19 and keep a distance of 1.5 meters. In addition, everyone is called upon to adhere to the hygiene rules.
