WILLEMSTAD — After several years of expansion, the Coast Guard will complete its personnel growth phase in 2026 and shift its focus toward training, retention, and quality improvement.
The organization will remain operational 24/7, supported by a steady intake of new recruits through the Junior Coast Guard Crew Member program. Fifteen new trainees are scheduled to start in 2026 to offset natural attrition.
At the same time, the Coast Guard acknowledges recruitment challenges for specialized roles such as intelligence analysts and maritime investigators, particularly due to limited availability of qualified personnel in the local labor market.
