Pisas continues to boycott meetings

Local | By Correspondent August 3, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - Leader of the opposition party MFK Gilmar "Pik" Pisas has no plans to attend the Parliamentary Assembly this week. With this, he boycotts the swearing-in of the intended Member of Parliament for the PAR party Shaheen Elhage.

According to Pisas, after submitting the credentials of Marilyn Alcala-Walle, four weeks must pass before the seat is free again. Only then can Elhage take the seat.

The governor previously indicated that this is not necessary as Alcala-Walle has already relinquished the seat. Nevertheless, Pisas sticks to his point and will not be attending any meeting to approve Elhage’s credentials.
