WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas assumes that Curaçao can receive help from the Netherlands. Yesterday, after the swearing in, Pisas indicated that an official request for postponement has been sent to the Netherlands in order to be able to meet the conditions.
We will not reach the intended date of June 18 anyway, according to Pisas. The prime minister is optimistic that the support will come after all and says that the government will come up with a concrete plan that he hopes the Netherlands will accept. If not, an alternative must be sought internally. Pisas now wants to deal with the national ordinances for the requirements of the Netherlands as soon as possible and then he wants to make a counter-proposal regarding the Caribbean Organ for Reform and Development (COHO).
