Plachi di Dia is for groceries only

Local | By Correspondent April 10, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - The Plachi di Dia, or license plate of the day is not meant to go on the street the day you are allowed on the street. That is according to the police. The measure is intended to allow people to shop for groceries, not to take sightseeing tours.

The fine for violation of Plachi di Dia is 750 to 1000 guilders. Only cars for which the driver has an exemption are allowed on the road for other purposes.

The waiver is personal, so fellow passengers who ride after curfew must also have a waiver.
