WILLEMSTAD - Recently the World Sea Turtle Day was celebrated. That is why the artwork "Our plastic ocean" was unveiled in the Sambil shopping center. Made from plastic from the sea and from the recycling bins of Curaçao.
Sea Turtle Conservation Curaçao and Green Phenix predict that in 2050 there will be more plastic in the sea than fish. The four different species of sea turtles from Curaçao will be in serious trouble if this happens.
The artwork, created by the 14-year Jayden Booi, is currently on display at the shopping center.
