WILLEMSTAD - Today marks the 74th anniversary of the founding of the Partido Nashonal di Pueblo (PNP) by Dr. Moises Frumencio da Costa Gomez. The political party commemorates this historic moment every year on this date, April 19.
This is celebrated with a wreath laying at the statue of the founder on Gomez Square in Punda. The attendees first observed 1 minute of silence. Then political leader Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia gave a speech. Other party members also spoke briefly.
Currently the party is represented in the Curaçao government with 3 ministers and 4 Members of Parliament.
