WILLEMSTAD – The leadership of the Partido Nashonal di Pueblo (PNP) has responded to a social media post circulating about a ruling by the Court of Justice of Curaçao, in which a member listed as a candidate for the March 21, 2025 elections was sentenced.

PNP stated that it had already taken note of the condemnable incident involving the individual concerned in February 2025. Following that development, the party’s leadership issued a press release dated February 20, 2025, in which it made clear that PNP does not support any person who violates the law or acts contrary to justice.

In that statement, PNP also emphasized that it would not interfere in the case in any way, stressing that judicial authorities must be given full space to handle the matter in accordance with legal procedures. The party underlined its position that the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary must be respected at all times.

PNP noted that the Court of Justice has now delivered its verdict and confirmed that the party respects the ruling. According to the party, each individual within the community remains personally responsible for their own actions.

In closing, the Partido Nashonal di Pueblo reaffirmed its commitment to continue honoring its responsibilities toward the country and the people of Curaçao, stating that the case does not alter the party’s principles or its dedication to integrity and accountability in public life.
