WILLEMSTAD -The police in Curaçao on Tuesday offered a reward of 5000 Antillean guilders (around 2500 dollars) to solve a fire in the only tax office on the island. That was seriously damaged last week by the fire.
The police only announced after a few days of investigation that there had been arson. On a published video it can be see how a car drives to the building around 3 o'clock in the night from Wednesday 21 to Thursday 22 August. Two men get out and then quickly left in the car again. A short time later the fire starts in the building.
The damage is considerable. Some services, including tax arrears, have suffered from fire damage. The building is also in bad shape.
