WILLEMSTAD — Police arrested a 34-year-old man on Saturday morning in connection with a burglary at a business located along the Caracasbaaiweg, during which a significant quantity of fireworks was stolen. The Curaçao Police (KPC) confirmed the arrest in a press release.
According to police, the theft occurred after a door at the business premises was forcibly opened. The incident came to light following a report of suspicious individuals in the area of Jumentoweg, prompting officers to launch a search operation.
During the search, police discovered a truck and a delivery van in a wooded area. Both vehicles were loaded with fireworks believed to be connected to the burglary. The truck and the van were seized as part of the investigation.
The suspect remains in custody while police continue their investigation. No further details have been released at this stage.
