WILLEMSTAD - In the investigation into the murder of 33-year-old politician Almier Godett, a second suspect was arrested on Wednesday afternoon. The 52-year-old man is suspected of being involved in the murder of 7 March last.
It is the second arrest in this case. A 36-year-old man was arrested on Sunday. His arrest was deemed legitimate by the examining magistrate. The Public Prosecution has determined that he will remain in custody for another eight days.
The cause for the murder is said to be an argument that got out of hand. The victim would have tried to calm the quarrel at his father's house.
Godett is this year's first murder victim.
