WILLEMSTAD - The police, in collaboration with the inspection department of the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO), checked seven businesses yesterday at Seru Kandela, Juan Domingu, Moonchiweg and Seru Fortunaweg, and other places.
Two businesses had to be closed due to violation of the covid-19 measures. The police also interrupted a gathering at a "car wash" on Juan Hatoweg. According to the police, more than a hundred people were present who did not comply with the social distancing rules.
The police checked all persons, eight of them did not have the correct documents to stay in Curaçao. The car wash was then closed. The police have announced that the checks will continue.
The police, together with the Inspectorate, have also discovered an illegal snèk (snack bar). That happened after a tip. A house in the Ser'i Kandela neighborhood was turned into snèk, but it was not visible from the outside.
After the tip, the Multidisciplinary Team observed the house for a while. It turned out that there was indeed a snèk, without papers and permits.
