WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Police Force (KPC) is investigating an incident of assault that took place last week at a store in Zeelandia, in which Minister of Administration, Planning and Public Services (BPD), Kimberly Lew-Jen-Tai (MFK), was the victim. The case has drawn widespread attention and speculation across social media and local news outlets.
According to a police statement, the minister filed an official complaint but made it clear that she does not wish for the suspect to be held in custody.
Based on the complaint, officers arrested a 47-year-old woman on Friday for questioning.
“After a standard legal and transparent assessment process, the suspect was released,” the police said.
The KPC emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, and further details will be shared as the case develops.
