WILLEMSTAD - The police issued 124 fines on Friday during two traffic checks. Drivers were checked on the Kaminda Rignald Recordino in Santa Rosa and on the Snipweg near Biesheuvel.
Between 9:30 and 11:15 a.m., officers wrote out 72 court reports. 47 drivers were not wearing seat belts and nine were using their mobile phones while driving. Fines were also handed out for driving without valid insurance, inspection card and driver's license.
During the check at Biesheuvel, 89 cars were again pulled over in the late afternoon. 52 of them were fined.
