WILLEMSTAD - Police handed out nearly 50 fines on Friday at the Sta. Rosa. In the morning rush hour, 26 drivers were fined for trying to avoid the traffic jam at the roundabout.
All drove in the opposite direction on the side road next to the roundabout. 22 fines were also issued to drivers who were not wearing a belt or had not paid their road tax. Others could not show a valid driver's license or insurance certificate. Cars were also stopped because of tinted glass on the windshield.
