WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao police are looking for a 35-year-old suspect in the shooting that took place on Friday in the Cubaguaweg in the Buena Vista area. This suspect is Garret Orianne Garricks, who lives at number 41 Julian.
The identity of the man who was shot has not yet been released. The police found him in the middle of the street. The suspect fled after the shooting but lost a slipper.
The police quickly traced the possible perpetrator and raided the address in Julian, but the suspect was not found there and is still on the run.
According to sources, the shooting was the result of a discussion about the sale of a cupboard that had been going on for days. An acquaintance would have even brokered and paid for the item to calm the situation.
The man who was shot is the first fatality in a shooting this year.
