WILLEMSTAD – A police vehicle was damaged after being pelted with stones during a police operation targeting so-called “feveren” in Banda Abou. The incident occurred when multiple police units were deployed following reports of disturbances to public order.

According to the police, the first unit to arrive on the scene—a patrol car from the Barber unit of the Korps Politie Curaçao—was struck by a stone upon arrival. The impact caused damage to the police vehicle, forcing the officer inside to abandon the car and seek safety.

Following the incident, additional support was requested through the dispatch center. Shortly afterward, several police patrols arrived in the area to provide backup. Multiple police units were subsequently active in and around Banda Abou in an effort to bring the situation under control.

At this time, authorities have not released further information regarding possible arrests or additional damage. The police have not disclosed whether the situation resulted in injuries.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns surrounding illegal street racing and public order disturbances in the Banda Abou area, which have previously required police intervention.
