WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Police Force has again carried out checks with regard to the corona measures last weekend. “Contrary to popular belief, the checks continue as usual,” the police confirm.
Last weekend several checks took place in the area of Pietermaai and Bapor Kibra. Several sneks (snackbars) were also checked for the corona measures.
Despite the fact that the majority of the catering businesses had everything in order, ten fines were issued. Most fines were handed out because of gatherings, nuisance from music and the lack of facemasks. A Snek near Weto was closed because of too loud music.
Police checks are often carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO). The police emphasize that more checks will take place in the coming days.
