WILLEMSTAD - According to the MFK faction in Parliament, the conditions in the Juvenile Detention Center Curaçao (JJIC) are appallingly bad. The faction indicates that the food is of poor quality and that there is sexual harassment by employees.
The faction has requested a Central Committee meeting with the Minister of Justice and the JJIC director. Faction members Amerigo Thode, David Seferina, Ramon Yung and Fergino Brownbill were amazed at the number of escapes from the juvenile detention center, despite the high walls that the government had built.
According to the faction members, the food would not meet the basic standards. In a lawsuit of June 23, it also emerged that there would be sexual harassment by the guards of the JJIC.
