WILLEMSTAD - The judge has granted the Sint Elisabeth Foundation a suspension of payments. This happened yesterday at the request of the foundation that manages the real estate of the former Sint Elisabeth Hospital (Sehos).
Lawyer Paul van de Laarschot has also been appointed as administrator. The foundation has millions of dollars in debt. As is known, Aqualectra has filed for bankruptcy of the foundation. The Sehos has about 3.7 million guilders in outstanding water and electricity bills.
Anthon Casperson, chairman of the Board of Directors of the foundation, indicated that the plans for the new function of the old hospital are continuing. The agreement with the developer from Breda has now been signed. Preparations for the master plan are already underway. The Sehos must become a top attraction for tourists with a mix of culture, catering and living.
